Passion and Purpose

To say that Chris was a passionate guy would be a great understatement! That man had some passion! Cars, aviation, football, golf, tech, finance...you name it. Obviously his greatest passion was for his family but another passion was COFFEE! That was his jet fuel.
Our purpose for Memorial Coffee is to honor Chris through coffee. Everyone loves coffee…It’s actually the most popular drink in the world after water. Countless households spend over a thousand dollars annually on coffee. Why not funnel some of that into a company that has a cause closely related to you. All profits go into a college 529 plan for Madison and Hudson.
This would of been a top priority for Chris to set them up for success as best he could.
A little backstory…
I was not always a coffee drinker, in fact, I didn’t even like coffee well into adulthood. Over the years, (kids and lack of sleep had something to do with it) I had become more a casual fan of coffee. Before Chris passed away I distinctly remember watching the sunrise on my back porch with him…sipping morning coffee. The peacefulness that morning had, the coffee, the colors in the sky that surrounded us. It was a perfect cup of coffee and that memory will always stand out to me.
I have since found more purpose in coffee because of this and have discovered so much more about coffee than I ever imagined. I have spent countless hours learning and researching coffee. Where does it come from? How do you source it? How do you roast it? Is it a seed? What kind of fruit is it? Where is it grown? The questions are endless and I had no idea how many rabbit holes there were about coffee. I have taken the time and dove in head first to figure all this out. Learning along the way, faltering and failing along the way but ultimately leading to were I am today. I am not a master coffee roster by any means… I haven’t put in the hours that requires. But I do roast with a passion and I do roast with a purpose.
This is a family affair that we are tackling together. There is a lot that goes into this and its going to take a great team to get this up and running. We still have our full time jobs and will be trying to scale and build this around our already busy schedules. Child labor will be used to its maximum and they actually are very excited about getting to help. Its a small family business with what we hope to make a big impact. We are up for the challenge look forward what lies ahead.
Our hope is that weather your super passionate about coffee like Chris was, or a casual coffee drinker like I was. That you’ll use Memorial Coffee as your jet fuel and remember and honor Chris while enjoying it
